"slappy girthday"*

Today's the day....my daddy's birthday!  Birthdays have always been a big deal in our family...it's just so fun to celebrate one person for a whole day (or month, whatever).  Today at lunch, he had his favorite meal....spam and vienna sausages.  Good ol' processed meats :)

No, seriously, that's not the only way his bday was celebrated.  We had a surprise party for him at our house Friday night.  Success.  He was totally surprised!  We've been planning this for a couple of weeks now.  We had Bandana's BBQ, potato skins, beer.....complete with several of his man-friends.  After dinner, we played several rounds of Catch Phrase and the men topped off their evening with some scotch.

Dad, looking back on this year, there is not much I can say that expresses how much I love you...but this year has been yet another where I see God's grace and faithfulness overflowing.  Thank you for your love and example.  With little Graham on the way, I cannot help but think back on my fun childhood memories.  I am so thankful that we are so close and that now little Graham can relive some old favorites like "can't get me!"  I pray that this next year is yet another one full of fun memory making and growing in Grace!

(love you thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much)

Yes, the celebration is continuing into Tuesday evening. Tonight we grilled steaks and I made Dad's favorite chocolate cake. Yes, the same recipe his mom used to make. Once he ate almost an entire cake and got really sick. He didn't like it for a while but is over that now. He'll probably take it to work and share it tomorrow, if it makes it through breakfast at our house! I know you're all thinking how gross, but chocolate cake is a tasty breakfast treat with a big glass of cold milk. Yum...
Thank you for making his day so special, Leslie! Mom

Again, the fact that none of you are morbidly obese astounds me. I am in awe. I bow before the Prouty family's gastronomic prowess.
