A certain friend of mine has gotten into walking lately (she's competitive and is counting her steps for a work contest)...bonus is that she lives near me! Well, yesterday we went for a walk. The previous night Matt and I had gone for a walk (see post below) and we apparently walked a little too fast and one of my shins took note. So, last night, walking with friend and her dog...great walk, loved having a dog this time...but the shin is not so happy. After dinner, I was at the point of limping. This is not a *new* thing for me. My shins often rebel against my walking. I just take a day off and they're fine.
This morning, I knew I didn't need to wear my trusty rainbows but decided on the old faithful Chacos. But where are they? I checked my closet floor (where all the fav shoes congregate)...the shoe boxes (where the special ones stay protectively stored)....no sign of the chacos. I'm worried at this point. Did I leave them somewhere? Did someone borrow them and "forget" to return them?
So I go to the basement where the box where the "extra-but-not-ready-to-get-rid-of box" of shoes live. What do you know....inside that box, nestled next to my 2 favorite gray New Balances from college and my last pair of running shoes...lies not only my Chacos, but also my Birkenstocks (yes I know, not everyone still thinks these are a good idea, but I do, you're not convincing me otherwise, I love them) and an old favorite pair of flip flops! I mean...what?!? It's the end of August. Have I not missed these 3 staple pairs of summer shoes until now?!
I'm so ashamed. So...for the next month, expect to see me wearing my chacos, birks, and jcrew flip flops in rotation....oh, and my rainbows, wouldn't want them to feel left you. I'm sorry shoes, I didn't mean to forget about you!

Moi? Competitive?
True.
I'm sorry you're injured! Feel better. Ice and rest, sadly, helps the ol' shins.
