pure deliciousness

Recently I rediscovered this amazing dessert.  I say "rediscovered" because it's not a new recipe.  I have made myself sick from eating too much too many times, so I took a break from making it.

That break is now over.  And I can't stop.

(notice how Matt and I have already gotten into it)

So, PLEASE enjoy this with me!

Heavenly Chip Bars (appropriate name I think)

1 yellow cake mix (you can substitute white if that's all you have)

1 stick of butter, melted

1 egg

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

*mix ingredients above well and press into lightly greased 9x13 baking dish

*Pour 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk over cake mixture.

*top with 1 cup of peanut butter chips and 1 cup of chocolate chips

*bake on 350 degrees for 20ish minutes - or until the edges are a light golden brown and bubbling.  Cool completely (or at least most of the way) or it's too runny to serve!

Ok, well....I just got all excited about how good they are all over again....off to get myself some!

silliness

Mable *wanted* to try Graham's new hip sling.

Graham's wish list...

I'm not sure who wants this (the frog chair) more...me, Matt, or Graham.

We're just *sure* he's going to love it.

isn't it cute?

I wish they had one in my size.

the best of the best

Dear QuickTrip,

Just a note to thank you for your consistently wonderful service, your clean facilities, and your fabulous fountain drink station.

There is not a QT close to my house and so I had settled on sub-par fountain Diet Dr. Peppers...but was reunited with your superiority in that department over this past weekend.  What was I thinking???  You are clearly the leader in quality in every way.  I'm not sure if it is the proportions of syrup to carbonation...but you stand out above the rest.  *This where triumphant music starts to play in the background*

Forgive my waywardness, I am back.

Now if we could work out some arrangement for a "summer drink special".....

Forever yours,

Leslie

am I alone?

WRTS

Matt says i have it.

Woman Racing Thoughts Syndrom.

I'm not sure this is a bad thing.  I'm just always thinking of things!  Things to do, things I want done, people I want to talk to, people I want to see...........  the list goes on....and on.

Am I crazy?  Am I the only one?

a promise

It was raining when I woke up this morning.  I hate rainy days.  They make me want to stay in the bed and sleep until the sun comes out!  However, while driving to work this morning, I drove through the clouds and into the sun.  There was the most glorious rainbow right in front of me...it was absolutely beautiful!  Tired as I was, it revived me for the day ahead.  Whenever I see a rainbow, I think of Noah and how renewed his soul must have been in the Lord when the flood subsided and God delivered him and his family from the ark.  What a glorioius event and promise!

"While the earth remains,

Seedtime and harvest,

Cold and heat,

Winter and summer,

And day and night

Shall not cease."

Genesis 8:22

May we remember the promise of our Covenant God and remain faithful to Him!  Praise Him for a rainbow this morning!

28 weeks

So, this is what you've been waiting for....a belly picture.  Here we are at 28 weeks (that's 7 months).  I am taking a prenatal yoga class with my friend Becca.  All the stretching and breathing is supposedly good for our bodies as everything rearranges to make room for the babes (as in helps with all the aches!) - labor is also supposed to be smoother and faster (which I'll gladly take!)  Anyway, this picture was taken as I was walking out the door for my class.

God is such an amazing creator!  This week, as Graham continues to grow, his major organs are all developed and will just continue to develop for the next several weeks.  He is opening his eyes now for the first time (they've been fused shut until now) and can sense light.  He is also forming definite sleeping and awake time.  So far, he is VERY active late at night and also early in the morning.  Yay for the upcoming lack of sleep :)  My little brother Andrew was born at 29 weeks.  He is now 16, driving, and has a job - wow, so grown up!  Graham is about 2 lbs. 6 oz....when Andrew was born, he was 5 lbs. only one week from now.  It is amazing how the Father prepares His precious children to be brought into this world!  We pray that Graham will continue to grow and develop in the coming weeks and that our Father continues His work on us to prepare us as parents.  I am so thankful for these weeks when I am able to feel him wiggle around, do his flips, and practice his punches and kicks.  I'll never get to have him this close to me constantly again!  (he just gave me a good kick, haha)

spam

I'm doing an experiment.

I'm letting my spam folder in my gmail account just........fill up.  Some time ago, my email address got spammed.  Every morning, there would be like 300 emails in there, mostly using a mixture of wing-dings and chinese letters in the subject line, so nothing really important.

So I've been faithfully emptying my spam folder each day....until now.

I'm up to 1,352.

They seem to have slowed down since I quit emptying.  My question is....is there a limit to my spam folder?  Gmail is known to have "endless storage"...does it apply to my spam?

I'll keep you posted.

three cheers for me!

Everyone....meet my first garden

We have successfully grown some cilantro, rosemary, basil, and several tomatoes!

Yay for tomatoes!

These are all for me because Matt doesn't eat fresh tomatoes.  He's weird like that.

just lounging

the 4th

Yeah for a long weekend!

Matt and I woke up early (wait, I should say I woke up early) because we were so excited about enjoying the first of two Saturdays.  I went walking (Matt running) because it was like 65 degrees outside and just beautiful!  We then went to the pool to enjoy some quiet sun time.  Correct that...we went to the Ballwin pool which might as well be the "Ballwin Six Flags" waterpark.  There wasn't so much *quiet sun-time* but there was time in the sun...and we enjoyed it for sure!  I was being smart and wearing sunscreen and such..only 15 spf....and effectively blocked ALL evidence that I spent the day in the sun.  Remind me when I'm 50 that I'm glad I wore sunscreen in my *youth*.  Thanks.

That evening, Matt was able to go to the baseball game with some other guys and enjoy it with the finest of accommodations.  There was delicious food - WAY better that just your typical "ball-park" food....and they were RIGHT behind home plate.  Literally.  Because I had the camera, there are no pictures to document this event, but I know they all had a wonderful time!

Since Matt was at the baseball game....he missed the family celebrating the 4th at his parent's house.  I forgot to take more pictures...but I did take these just to let Matt see what he missed.

(Matt's absolute favorite.  We all ate in moderation, Matt would've finished them all himself.)

(these are also berries...not the FAV, but Matt still would eat them all himself)

While I do not *love* fireworks, it is fun to spend a holiday with family.  I missed having Matt with me, call me selfish!  Love you Matt!

top 5.

It is 9 am....

Top 5 things to get me through today:

5. The possibility of swimming some time this weekend (maybe everyday).... *hopes for no rain!

4. The extra sleep I'll be able to get the next few days.

3. Matt is going to clean my car.

*side note: I treat my car terribly, I leave stuff in there for months because I don't want to make a second trip into the house....so, some items unnecessarily in my car at the moment are: a tupperware (clean) from March, a fleece, a fan that was taken apart and given to us, several magazines I had planned to read, a box of garage-sale rejects, a yoga mat, and a box of miracle grow that needs to be returned to Lowe's.  Thank you Matt for helping me!

2. We have an ultrasound on Monday and are really excited to see some more Graham!

1. (drum roll please).... No work tomorrow :)

We have plans to see several fireworks shows this weekend, and lots of family time...so I'm sure there will be some fun pictures to share after the weekend.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend...and remember....

Fireworks aren't toys.  Be careful.
