top 5
Anyway.....we were talking about our top 5 favorite foods. Obviously it all started with the pizza.
My top 5: (in no particular order)
1. Pizza. Usually the old faithfuls, but not the St. Louis thin style from Imo's.
2. Steak.
3. Reeses (cups, minis, eggs, any of the candy bars...)
4. Fresh fruit salad (minus cantaloupe)
5. Fries. McDonald's are obviously the best - though the ones I got from Lola's in Costa Rica did give the golden arches a run for the top spot.
*the one that I love that didn't fit in the top 5 is green bean casserole
Matt's top 5: (in no particular order)
1. Prawns Vindaloo from India Palace in Cranbrook, Maryland
2. Calamari Flatbread from Al Forno in Providence, Rhode Island
3. Momma Steel's Blackberry Cobbler - no one can duplicate that pure gold
4. Steak - Filet Mignon - he says that he's not old enough to have had the best one of his life yet though...
5. Fish and Chips Costa Rica style from Lola's in Playa Avellanas
*his plus one is the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla from the Ocean Mist in Matunuck, Rhode Island which comes with their massive rack of hot sauce.
Do you see the contrast in our two lists?
I'm in kindergarten and Matt is a grown up.

the poisoning
Matt and I had food poisoning last week. So did 2 of our friends.
A little background:
There is this restaurant, that we all love. I will leave this restaurant unnamed for it's protection because I don't hold a grudge. So they have this night, where there is a special price on a certain menu item (vague enough?). We always go because it's so stinking cheap and an excuse for us all to get together. So we did, last Tuesday night. We had a great time, babies and all!
So fast forward to Wednesday night....... I won't gross you out with the details, but Matt got sick. Very sick. All night. All day Thursday. We come to find out that so did two other friends who we had dinner with. I got sick Thursday night. Thankfully not as bad as Matt. Wow, this food poisoning thing is the devil! It was awful!
All are recovered, all weigh a little less than a few days ago, and all are a *little* scared to eat at this "special menu night" for a while.
The restaurant is being very nice and giving us all gift cards. It is very nice of them. Thank you unnamed restaurant.

new direction
While we're not sure where God is leading us right now, we do know that He has a plan. We'd appreciate your prayers during this time of transition. For either a position to open up or for His business to really take off.
I'm so proud of him. He has been working sooo hard to update his website and is now working so hard to find clients!
Check out his hard work:

Thank you so much for your prayers!
weird anatomy
It's true!
One for food, one for liquids, and one for desserts.
It's a weird thing....I like to drink. A lot. I mean, I think I drink somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 ounces a day. Insane right? I'm just always thirsty! So, no matter how much I've eaten, I will continue to drink.
Sort of related is my dessert stomach. Matt is amazed, but no matter how large the meal, I always want something sweet. Matt has this weird thing with sweets. It's really amazing actually. He only eats one dessert a day. Yeah, crazy! Way more self control than I can claim. I don't even want to tell you how many "desserts" I've already had today! I'm serious, I'll be stuffed and still want a bowl of ice cream or pile of cookies. I'm now a little sickened at that last sentence...gross.
I know a friend of mine suffers from a "liquid pouch" of his own. Anyone else have this dilemma?
I sort of think of it as a blessing.

socially acceptable?
Oh, and he's also begun napping in his crib. This is huge. He's been sleeping in our room (and still does at night) but has started napping in his crib during the day. And thanks to the sound machine, he sleeps right through whatever noisy activity I *think* is a good nap filler for me. I think he likes it....he seems so happy (and is blowing his bubbles) at his colorful quilt and mobile when I go to get him. He's just so stinking cute and smiley when he wakes up!

bundled
The past few days have been freezing....but also sunny. So we bundled the babe up and went for a walk.

This is post-walk....love the little rosy nose!
