pure deliciousness

Recently I rediscovered this amazing dessert.  I say "rediscovered" because it's not a new recipe.  I have made myself sick from eating too much too many times, so I took a break from making it.

That break is now over.  And I can't stop.

(notice how Matt and I have already gotten into it)

So, PLEASE enjoy this with me!

Heavenly Chip Bars (appropriate name I think)

1 yellow cake mix (you can substitute white if that's all you have)

1 stick of butter, melted

1 egg

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

*mix ingredients above well and press into lightly greased 9x13 baking dish

*Pour 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk over cake mixture.

*top with 1 cup of peanut butter chips and 1 cup of chocolate chips

*bake on 350 degrees for 20ish minutes - or until the edges are a light golden brown and bubbling.  Cool completely (or at least most of the way) or it's too runny to serve!

Ok, well....I just got all excited about how good they are all over again....off to get myself some!

ok stop it. stop it right now. mommy in-law bought me this cake book and every recipe uses a cake mix of some kind. so I bought yellow and returned scouring the book for a good recipe that used yellow cake mix. nada. you need yellow with pudding. so there sits my yellow cake mix, lonely... worthless. and then you came along. you came along and offered me, and cake mix, hope and I looked into that recipe as it looked back at me and realized: there will be yummers.

thank you dear friend. thank you indeed.

hahaha :) Suz, you're awesome. I bet it's the same cook book that i got this one from, "101 things to do with a cake mix". Needless to say....EVERY recipe is good. and completely fool-proof, haha

so, hope you and your yellow cake mix enjoy these bars!
