training

Matt and I have signed up for a half marathon in September.

We registered, trained, and then backed out of a full marathon back in October of 2007 (not because we wimped out but because we bought a house and moved*...)  We have been wanting to do it since then but so far it had all been talk.  Well, we're registered.  We're committed to it.

A half is much more reasonably possible for us right now.  Training for a full is basically a full time summer job.  But a half is something I can do with Graham in the jogging stroller.  He likes it when I run, I think he thinks we're flying or something.  The air blowing in his face is really exciting.

Oh, and by the way, we fly out later that same afternoon for family vacation.  This will be fun.  The organization and efficiency involved gets me all tingly.

*we blame the moving, but we were both having lots of aches and such at the 12 mile mark....wait...I think that's considered wimping out.  Hangs head in shame

I hope (and trust) your follow through is better than ours. The broken record: we joined a gym a year ago and only went once.
