bath time!

And the baby posts begin.

We recorded Graham's first sponge bath, but last night decided to take some pictures.

Yesterday was a big day for the little guy.  He had his first doctor's appointment and he did great!  In the 5 days since he was born, he has gained 10 ounces (he is 7 lbs 8 oz right now), so he's getting PLENTY of milk, that's for sure.  Our doctor was so gentle as she moved his little arms and legs around.  I am still disappointed that she wasn't able to deliver him and be with him in the hospital, but it was nice to see her with him yesterday.  He slept the whole time except when he had to be nakey for the weighing and examining, then slept all the way home.  He even was good when I begged Matt to let me go into the mall and eat Chick-Fil-A!  I know....we shouldn't take a 5 day old baby into the mall...but I was dying for a sandwich and to be in the land of the living.  Anyway, all of that activity really took it's toll on little Graham and he was a little fussy all evening.  So when it came time for bath, we figured he'd just have a good cry and work himself into a long sleep.

But here's the funny part.  So, we bathe him and get him all clean...we're taking pictures and enjoying seeing him all bundled and clean (and we're letting have some nakey bottom time to hopefully let his little rash heal)....and then came the squirts.  He was just pooping all over the towel and all over his clean little self.  Matt and I were just dying at his little sounds!  Then, he peed.  We laughed some more.  Then he coughed and threw up.  At this....we were almost in tears!  I mean....he was clean and sweet for like 6 whole minutes before TOTALLY negating it with pee, poop and vomit.  And so it begins, haha!

After we laughed for a long time, we cleaned him up again and then Matt rocked and sang to him while he fell asleep.  It is just the sweetest thing to see Matt loving on little Graham.  He is so gentle as he talks to him and it melts me to see Graham just stare back at him!

cloth diapers are the best for rash b/c the cotton breathes... just a little plug(as if i haven't turned you crunchy enough ;-)!!!

so glad to see things are going well!
