Matt and I had food poisoning last week. So did 2 of our friends.
A little background:
There is this restaurant, that we all love. I will leave this restaurant unnamed for it's protection because I don't hold a grudge. So they have this night, where there is a special price on a certain menu item (vague enough?). We always go because it's so stinking cheap and an excuse for us all to get together. So we did, last Tuesday night. We had a great time, babies and all!
So fast forward to Wednesday night....... I won't gross you out with the details, but Matt got sick. Very sick. All night. All day Thursday. We come to find out that so did two other friends who we had dinner with. I got sick Thursday night. Thankfully not as bad as Matt. Wow, this food poisoning thing is the devil! It was awful!
All are recovered, all weigh a little less than a few days ago, and all are a *little* scared to eat at this "special menu night" for a while.
The restaurant is being very nice and giving us all gift cards. It is very nice of them. Thank you unnamed restaurant.

Um....
Speak for yourself, love. A *little* scared to eat there for a while? How about ever again? You failed to mention that as of this post it's Sunday night and my appetite still isn't back to 100%, and I've probably lost about 10 pounds, which wasn't really needed. I missed a press check and got behind on another project. All because of a mediocre-tasting special item that turned me inside out.
So: I'll probably go there in the future with you and get drinks. I'd even attack one of their [insert specialty drink name]s as if it owed me money. But the food there? Erhm, NO. Never again. Bleurg.
As a fellow poisionee I must say that I am not too eager to eat there again. . . even with my gift card. I'll just drink with Matt I guess.
I'm glad that you got a gift card though! I'm interested to hear what they said to you when you called. At least we still have our Chick-fil-A. Please Chick-fil-A, don't do us wrong. . . you are all we have left!
ok, i think i need to clarify......i'm not eager to eat there again either, but i guess i'm just optimistic. i know i'll eventually eat there again. maybe we can use our gift cards for happy hour. we'd eat at 5, shall we just go drink now since that's a more acceptable happy hour time?! hahah :)
the chick has to stay strong.....without that i think i'd cry!
somehow jodi and i escaped your fate, so we can merely groan in sympathy from afar. i've heard rumblings of another place with a similar food item priced 25% lower than the aforementioned establishment on a different day of the week. perhaps a change of venue is in order.
not that i'd place MORE trust in someone hawking their wares for even LESS dough...
