just like daddy

After a week of Matt being insanely busy and absent with work. Graham really missed his daddy. I couldn't get a word in edgewise for like an hour. And Matt could do nothing alone.

I think someone has a fan club. Of two little people.

flying a kite

Back in June we had a week or so of unseasonably pleasant temperatures. We took full advantage of the late night light with some fun evening activities.

How fun is flying a kite on a cool summer night in a beautiful park?

How spontaneous of us. Everyone loved it!

10 Months

I'm way behind on documenting this sweet little one.

Where in the world did 10 months go? I think he'll always be my baby.

Jackson is such a sweet little boy with a precious little personality. He has 4 little teeth with like 4 more in the process of coming in. He crawls like a machine and loves to snuggle. He has tan lines at his ankle and wrist creases, super blond hair and refuses to eat any and all baby and table food. This guy demands to be part of the family conversation, make his own way and do things on his own time.

Like I said, he eats NO food. I could give him a teething biscuit or a chocolate cookie... nothing gets past his lips. Thank goodness for breast milk and my seeming endless supply! He loves to snuggle, especially with me. He loves bath time and any time spent with daddy and brother. He babbles dadadada but consistently calls out for me with the sweetest "mamamamama" you'll ever hear.

He has the best smile in the world!

He's going to have one sweet hairline with that cow lick...

He absolutely loves his lovey and will crawl across the room to bury his face in it if he catches a glimpse of it. What this picture captures is the way he takes a big bite out of it's face if he really needs a lovey fix.

And see that sweet little tongue? When he's chasing us or laughing and crawling he sticks his tongue out. Silly Jackson.

I literally cannot imagine life without this little one. He is such a joy. And even on the days when he crawls around calling me all day long and cries all night long.... I smile when he looks at me. We are thankful each and every day for our Jackson.

Father's Day

Father's day is such a precious day. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such Godly men who not only love our Heavenly Father, but seek his guidance and grace for themselves.

Such a blessing for Matt and me. And I love seeing the blessing it is for our boys.

We know we're lucky to have all our family close, so we try to see everyone for these kinds of holidays.

My dad was actually in Haiti over the Father's day weekend. He goes down there several times a year with the organization he helps run to minister to the orphans. I can't think of a better place for him on Father's day - except with us of course! We celebrated with him later in the week.

Our day was spent at the pool and then over at the Steel's for dinner.

Someone was super excited to go to the park after dinner to enjoy the nice weather.

We love you dads. Thanks for leading us, praying with and for us, laughing with us, teaching us grace, and loving us like Christ!

the back yard, with a twist

We love our back yard. She may be small. She may be mostly (all) weeds. But we love her.

We poured a patio back there. And even though we'll never do concrete ourselves again, we love it.

My mom loves flowers. I never understood why until we've had our own house.

So now I love my flowers. I get super excited in the spring to plan my pots and help them grow.

It makes me happy to be out there and see my happy flowers.

You want to know what else makes me happy? A cute toddler thinking that the best way to ride his bike is with no clothes on.

Toddlers are so funny.

Brothers in the Yard

Look at these two. Aren't they sweet. I think so.

We had some great weather a few weeks ago which means we spent a lot of time outside.

Do you think they liked it?

They also love their daddy. Daddy is so fun.

G loves to bring me flowers.... or weeds.

G ran off to hide by the neighbor's front porch. He thinks he's hiding just because his eyes are closed.

Gosh they're cute.

just doing a little secret reading

I couldn't find G the other day (late blogging means this actually happened back in June, woops.)

What a cutie.
